Anyone Experience Lightheadness?
I had a lot of this! I suffer from low to low normal blood pressure even before my surgery. After surgery, I don't know what it was... weight loss maybe and not getting enough nutrients in the first few months, but I was lightheaded all the time and almost passed out on several occasions. This hasn't really occurred since my weight has stabilized. Sometimes (very few) I will get lightheaded if I move my body in a weird position back up to quickly or I am in a really really hot shower trying to bend down and shave my legs and shift up too fast.
That is my experience :)
It's usually one of a few things .. blood pressure (as mentioned), blood sugar, and possibly anemia.
I mention blood sugar because if it happens mostly in the morning I'm guessing it's probably when you get up first thing. If so, your body has NO food in it and has been fasting for hours. I'd take in some water when you first get up and then immediately get some food into you. I aim for a minimum of 30 grams within 30 minutes of protein.
Also, iron/anemia. If you haven't had labs in the past 6 months, get them done. You can also ask your MD to just pull CBC labs for you if you can't manage everything at once. Being a Mrs., depending on your age you might be losing more than you are able to replenish, if that makes sense. What iron are you already taking, if any and if you have fairly recently iron labs, share with us and we can take a peek at the levels and give you some idea what might be going on.
Hope that helps!

Taking electrolytes helped me. I couldn't drink any more than I was, but this seemed to restore the balance for me. I took dioralyte, but I think something similar that you could get in the US would be Gatorade. It worked in 2 or 3 days for me, so it's worth a try while you investigate some of the other causes that people have suggested.

Hey woman,
It was low blood pressure and severe anemia for me. I am getting infusions now and I started using salt for peetz sake to increase my blood pressure imagine that.
Can you imagine the "SALT POLICE" in my household "husband" lol is having a tizzy fit over my salt usage lol because before when I weighed 450 pounds I was not allowed to have salt so he enjoyed taking it away from me.
He has to watch his fat, salt and carb intake so close. I jus****ch the carbs lol. Sorry I don't mean to sound mean but its kinda funny when the tables are turned lol.

Never had a bout of lightheadedness that I can remember, even early out, although it's possible that I did and it was not all that bad.
How's your fluid intake? It could be an electrolyte imbalance. Some in my local group have reported this, but say Gatorade fixed it. But then, most of them are RNY's, so I'm not sure if that would apply across the board.
If you try the Gatorade and it continues, call your doc.
Hope that helps if for no other reason then knowing you're not alone.
